Yea-Eun Jang is an animated filmmaker, visual artist, art teacher, and researcher in field of Visual Communication at the Time-Based media Studio at the University of Jan Evangelista in Ústí nad Labem. Her stop-motion animation <Eternity (2018)> won prizes and screened at various international film festivals. With the diploma film <CURE (2019)>, she participated in a residency program by The Animation Workshop Viborg, Denmark. Topic-wise, she illustrates a psychological struggle that is symbolised with a poetic approach and indigenous earthy images. She brings back myth / primitive / folk / Naïve art and Art Brut to this contemporary era; relatively, her research project is a shamanic art therapy contemporary art practise; a new genre of music; Shamanic New Wave; shaman chanting goes with Jew’s harp and electric guitar; ancient ritual transforms into a modern concert. Being a shaman, she explores human voice without language to remove our thoughts; mind purification.
